From the introduction:

Another year, and another series of poems meditating on the seven last words of Christ. This year's poems focus particularly on the theme of relationship, building upon previous explorations of freedom from/to and forgiveness. As living communion, a relationship grows over time spent and the interplay in coming to know who you are, as well as in knowing and in being known by another. This requires investment and sacrifice, which are the hammer and chisel of identity. While this remains true at the human level, there is no higher or greater sense of belonging, of being known, than in God, who is “higher than my highest and more inward than my innermost self.” Knowing this and being able to embody it in daily life, however, are two very different things.
